The attitude at Von’s Bistro is “you’re only a stranger once.” The cozy décor provides for a comfortable and unrushed dining experience. The lighting is subdued and muted to keep the feeling cozy. Check out the patio in the summer to enjoy an outdoor meal amid lovely scenery.
Ample Lunch and Brunch Menu
Von’s Bistro features an ample lunch and brunch menu. A nice variety of omelettes are featured on the lunch menu including smoked salmon and seafood. In addition, you can try the quiche, a variety of burgers, wraps and sandwiches. There are also pasta dishes like homemade ravioli in flavourful stewed tomatoes. The weekend brunch is great for those looking for variety. Eggs, served the way you like, a large selection of omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast and crepes are there every weekend to enjoy. Von’s Bistro adds a nice selection of salads.
Dinner and Dessert
For dinner, start with a salmon rillette (similar to pate), a refreshing cold terrine of smoked Atlantic salmon with capers, chives and sour cream. It’s served with grain mustard, lemon and yogurt sauce and pumpernickel toast points. The smoked duck salad is another good starter. The menu provides lots of choice for the main course. It includes Moroccan inspired lamb chops, striploin steak, and chicken coconut curry pasta. Leave room for dessert. Chocolate features prominently on the menu, with selections such as chocolate sabayon and chocolate pecan pie.
