Vertigo Records is a one-stop shop for vinyl-hungry DJs and music aficionados, selling rarities and DJ equipment among other items. No longer must one scavenge through online stores and eBay to find music rarities in Ottawa. This shop offers an eclectic collection of both new and used LPs, CDs, DVDs, amplifiers, receivers, and turntables. With a selection of over 20,000 hand-selected pieces in stock, Vertigo Records rivals the best stores in New York City and Los Angeles.
Ottawa’s Hip-Hop Source
Vertigo Records is known as Ottawa’s only destination for hip-hop artists and fans. The store has Ottawa’s largest hip-hop collection, vinyl selection, and DJ equipment section. Many DJs visit the store every week. While being known primarily as a hip-hop store, Vertigo Records stocks every genre of music. You’ll find rare vinyl records (for example, an original Beatles release), CD re-releases, and new music in every genre from rock, funk and soul to indie rock, electronic, punk and reggae.
A Personal Touch
Located in the former Spinables’ location, Vertigo was opened in 1993 by two employees and former DJs. The owners pride themselves on the personal touches found at the store. They stock only what they consider the best of every genre. As such, they have personal knowledge of everything in the store. Vertigo Records buys and sells new and used stereo equipment, and instead of focusing on technical details, the staff hopes to provide customers with equipment that will suit their personal tastes and music preferences.
