Tasting History
Heritage Ristorante is located in the village of Cumberland, about 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa. The restaurant is located in a beautiful heritage home, Clearview House, which was built in 1883. The restaurant has been restored on both the inside and outside to capture the feeling of the late 1800s. Besides providing a quality dining experience, the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum is close by; the museum is a recreation of a village of the Lower Ottawa Valley during the 1900s and is open spring and summer.
Fine Italian Cuisine
Pasta, veal, steak and seafood are highlights of the Italian menu. Special attention is paid to obtaining local products in season and using the highest quality of ingredients available. There is seating for 100, including the patio area that during warm days provides for a relaxing dining experience. Your hosts are knowledgeable and friendly and pay attention to detail to ensure your visit is rewarding.
Desserts and Wines
Developing an appropriate wine list takes a certain degree of skill. The Galla’s have come up with a very nice selection of Italian red and white wines that will suitably complement any item on their menu. Ending your meal with fine coffee and a changing selection of Italian cakes, including tiramisu, makes a visit to this restaurant complete. They also do a special Ocktoberfest menu each year, if you want to try some German cuisine.
