Eclectic
The Buzz Bar and Restaurant has a distinctly modern look. With its half-moon corner booths and high-ceiling globe lights, this restaurant/bar’s dark, hole-in-the-wall entrance contrasts with its warm and sensuous interior. For the downtown grazers and wine crew, the buzz is all about the food. Appetizers include escargot and a peppercorn carpaccio. The fusion between Canada and the world is evident through the unique combinations of fruit, seafood, meat and pasta that are offered everyday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. This fully licensed bar and restaurant is located in the heart of Centretown between Somerset and Gladstone.

There’s No Buzz Like It
Salads include a house special with mesclun, grilled and marinated vegetables, candied walnuts, sprouts and lemon soy Dijon dressing. You can get steak frites with sweet potato fries and baked tomato Provencal, a smoked pork chop served Argentinean style, or roasted bacon-wrapped monkfish tail that comes with a grilled pineapple ring, charred corn and pineapple salsa. Pasta is available in half a dozen choices from cappelletti to penne; the toppings and sauces are very imaginative. Try the linguine in a rose sauce with smoked bacon, mushrooms, leeks and a dash of sambuca. There are even urban burgers and wraps with blue cheese and caramelized onions, a pecan vegetarian burger and the Buzz Wrap with chicken curry, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, pesto and mango chutney.

Drink Delights
To quench your thirst, order one of many original drinks from the bar, or bring in your own bottle of wine. The corkage fee is only $5 per bottle.
