Stylistic Sensation
Teruko is based on the work of Teruko Nakamura, a fashion designer who studied in Tokyo, Japan and traveled to Europe and throughout the U.S. before deciding to settle in Canada. Teruko enjoys a reputation for unique creations, by focusing on elegant, timeless and yet contemporary designs. Her work is intended for every type of woman. Teruko’s designs run the gamut, including everything from dynamic daytime pieces, to elaborate evening wear.
Small Space, Big Vision
Teruko consists of a small workspace and a quaint boutique. Sage green walls are stacked high with a plethora of fabrics, awaiting a creative touch, and a few racks of one-of-a-kind creations sit along the front windows. Don’t be fooled by Teruko’s quaint appearance; the magic of this place lies in the enthusiasm and creativity of its proprietor.
Geared Just For Your
Have an idea for a particularly unique piece? Teruko’s custom work can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks and generally requires 2 fittings before completion. They use a variety of fabrics, including high quality natural fibers like wool, silk, and cotton, and can even order a specific fabric, if required. Teruko takes great pride in creating pieces that will last for years to come, both in wear and in style.
