You’d certainly be forgiven for thinking first of the Ottawa Senators when you think of Scotiabank Place (formerly known as the Corel Centre). After all, they’re one of the most exciting teams in the NHL, and Scotiabank Place is their home. But there’s even more going on than world-class sports at this entertainment venue extraordinaire. Other big name acts like U2 and Bruce Springsteen have also called Scotiabank Place home—if only for a night or two. Be it hockey season or not, superstars make their way to Scotiabank Place year round. And because it was designed for hockey, every seat in the house is a good one—never more than 138 feet from the floor.
Surprising Variety
Opened in 1996, Scotiabank Place houses the 19,153-seat arena that’s routinely packed with spectators watching the Senators or entertainers. The modern complex also features meeting spaces, private businesses, the Kanata YWCA/YMCA, and six restaurants—plenty of choice to satisfy any craving. So whether you’re planning a guys’ hockey night, a family day watching Disney On Ice, or a company meeting for 20, Scotiabank Place has everything you need to make the best of it.
Rent It Here
Have you ever fantasized about zooming across the same ice as your hockey heroes? For an hourly fee, you and your friends can do just that. The rink is just one of the venues you can rent at Scotiabank Place. Even the arena can be transformed into a theatre for as few as 2,500, accommodating performances, conferences, and large meetings. For smaller meetings, there are 12 fully accessible rooms with audio-video equipment and service. Scotiabank Place offers full-service, in-house catering for events of any size.
