Located in the charming city of Carleton Place, Sandy’s is in an ideal location whether you want to take in the view of the river or shop the many shops and stores along its path. A quaint little restaurant, it has seating inside for about 20 but plenty of space outside on the decorated and garden-like patio which you’ll surely want to enjoy when the summer sun makes everything come alive.

 

One of Sandy’s specialties and what initially draws people into the restaurant are their famous burgers. What makes them so special? Well, they start with meat that comes directly from a local butcher and often from local farmers. That beef comes to Sandy’s fresh and stays fresh while it is sculpted into a homemade, delicious patty that will never be frozen, has no artificial preservatives, flavours or fillers. The next step is grilling over a wooden grill fuelled by charcoal which gives it a flavor you will savor and that will keep you coming back for more.

 

In the morning Sandy’s serves up hot and hearty breakfasts including eggs, a variety of meat options, has browns, and of course, piping hot and fresh coffee. At lunch the burgers are very popular and with sides like Caesar, macaroni or potato salad, or fries that are fresh cut daily and cooked up only after you order them, make for a meal you’re sure to enjoy. The real surprise here at Sandy’s though may be the unique Jamaican food – a real treat for those who like something a little different. Enjoy everything from roti to curried beef, and from West Indian chow mein to Jamaican patties. Everything can be made with varying degrees of spiciness to accommodate the seasoned and the novice alike. The jerk chicken is a particular favorite here and worth trying if you’ve never had the opportunity.
