Truly one of a kind, the Ottawa Hang Gliding and Paragliding club nurtures the shared passion of you guessed it—flight enthusiasts. A non-profit organization incorporated nationally provides its members the opportunity to fly at various sites in Ontario and Quebec, around the National Capital Region. More specifically, the club is made up of two schools: the Airsensation Paragliding School on the one hand, and the Skyadventure Ultralight, Trike and Hang Gliding School on the other.
Online Community
Check out the club’s website for all sorts of flying gear; from parachutes to harnesses, enthusiasts gather here to buy and sell and sometimes simply to chat about related items of all sorts. This website displays a shared passion for flying, publishing everything from stories to pictures to quotes about the sport. The atmosphere of camaraderie and shared interest is apparent in all aspects of the club.
Safety First
In addition to fostering a great deal of excitement amongst its members, the OHPC prides itself in promoting and indeed upholding the highest in safety standards. By administering requirements for helmets and reserve parachutes and by strongly recommending that all pilots obtain the Red Cross Standard First Aid qualification, the club demonstrates a considerable degree of concern for the well-being of its members. Whether you’re a seasoned semi-pro or just an Average Joe seeking a new weekend pastime, OHPC promises a sporting experience like no other.
