When you first walk in, you will not realize you are in a restaurant. That is because the entrance of the Newport first leads to a convenience store. Only after walking past the shelves of gum, newspapers and cigarettes will you find the hidden gem that is Moe’s World Famous Newport Restaurant.
The Walls Tell the Tale
The walls are decorated with lots of memorabilia, the majority of which centres around The King himself: Elvis Presley. This is because the restaurant doubles as the headquarters for the Elvis Sighting Society. You might occasionally run into some regulars talking about one of the many pictures on the walls and various experiences they’ve had that revolve around The King.
But it’s a Restaurant Isn’t It?
As entertaining and original as the décor of the Newport is, the main reason to go is the food. Although they have a full menu, there are a few things that keep people coming back. The first is their pizza, a nice thick crust with plenty of cheese and any topping combination you wish. The breakfast at The Newport is also extremely popular. They make the classic breakfast, and add their own home fries to it.
