Don't be fooled by the modest exterior of More Flowers, located in the ByWard Market. Behind the small retail space is a huge warehouse with a wealth of floral choices for any occasion. Open since the 1970s, the More Flowers success story is inspiration to all. Originally started as a summer venture for two enterprising Algonquin College students, the husband and wife team decided to make More Flowers a full-time operation after graduation. Now, the store is part of a large operation that is a retail florist shop, a wholesale supplier to other flower stores throughout the region, and the team behind several seasonal stalls in the ByWard Market. The More Flowers team knows their flora.
A Rose is Still a Rose
Not surprisingly, More Flowers has an extensive clientele that includes embassies, corporate customers, party planners, and, of course, private individuals. There is something to suit everyone - from the traditional rose (200-300 varieties, in fact) to the more exotic bird of paradise. What they don't have they are happy to order. Aside from fresh cut flowers, there are also seasonals, flowering and green plants, the extremely popular curly bamboo, and a variety of gift items. If you are looking for something to add to your flowers, you have a choice of baskets, vases, silk flowers, wreaths, Ty toy products, candles, and the list goes on.
