Support the Arts
Michael's is a large national arts and crafts specialty retailer providing materials, ideas and education for creative activities in home decor, art and craft projects. Their multiple aisle stores are an art and craft lover's dream, and their large supply of high quality and low-priced products will leave you “in stitches.” Michael's mission is to help people express themselves creatively, and they don't mess around; with educational, in-store events, instruction displays, kids’ clubs and events, and a whole slew of how-to books and videos, Michael's can bring out the artist in everyone.

Arts and Crafts and Crafts and...
Jewellery making, painting, sculpture, crafts, kids’ projects, wreaths, gardening ideas, floral and home decor, wedding ideas—including do-it-yourself wedding invitations, place settings, and decor ideas—rubber stamps, bird baths, crochet, needlework, knitting, quilting, holiday and special occasions, fabric painting, stencilling, models, craft how-tos and inspiration books, art books, gift certificates, instructional videos, software prints and framed art, framing, and the list goes on and on. Practically anything arts and craft related can be found at Michael's in great abundance.

Art House
Michael's is a large, warehouse-like environment that still maintains a warm and intimate feeling (though once in awhile, usually during one of their great sales, craft-crazed mobs storm through the place for the latest buy.) Take a list, get in and get out quick, or make a day of it and get lost browsing for ideas. There are usually sales and promotions—check out their flyers in newspapers and in-store—and the many staff, most of whom are quite crafty themselves, are always around with helpful suggestions and ideas; and if you're a master crafter, don't be afraid to lend your own comments.
