Pan-Asian Cuisine
Located on busy Merivale Road in Ottawa’s west end, this well-appointed establishment features a combination of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cooking. Its specialties are the fresh sushi bar and the seafood prepared in a variety of Asian styles and sauces. Lunch is available Monday to Saturday and lunch specials include samplers from the menu plus rice and vegetables at a modest price. Dinner is a more elaborate affair and there is a wide choice of appetizers, soups, salads, chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian dishes to choose from.

A Saucy Affair
The front of the menu details the choice of sauces offered at MHK Sushi & Asian Fusion and they include the usual sweet and sour and Thai style sauces, but for something completely different you can opt for a vanilla sauce, a curry sour sauce or the King of Soy, a blend of Chinese and Japanese soy sauces with sugar, ginger and cilantro.

The Food
A full range of appetizers include shrimp and vegetarian spring rolls, as well as calamari, shrimp tempura and satay chicken. At the sushi bar, you can get maki and a special house sushi-pizza for starters. Main courses available include lemongrass chicken and Peking pork chops. A variety of sushi platters come advertised as Osaka sushi, nigiri sushi, vegetarian maki sushi, and even a cooked sushi platter. Vanilla shrimp, Maine lobster, and strawberry grouper are some of the unique selections made by the chef at MHK Sushi & Asian Fusion.

Asia by the Glass
The Asian experience continues with a selection of warm and chilled sakes and a selection of beers from China, Japan, and Thailand. Local beers are available on draft and by the bottle and a limited selection of red and white wines is also offered.
