The Manx cat, a symbol of the Isle of Man, greets visitors to this below ground pub, which features paintings by local artists and a beautiful old style bar. The well-equipped bar offers 18 beers on tap including some hard-to-find brands such as Dogsbody Ale and one of the best selections of scotch in the city. There are over 50 different kinds of single malt scotch, 10 Irish selections and a dozen different bourbons. This is the place to be for scotch connoisseurs.
International Pub Cuisine
In addition to traditional pub fare, the Manx offers a good mix of vegetarian and ethnic cuisine including vegetarian spring rolls and a baby spinach with marinated oyster mushroom salad. Sandwiches on offer include a lamb curry wrap and a jerk marinated salmon wrap with red pepper slaw and peach cilantro mayo. Main courses include homemade pasta as well as chicken and lamb dishes in creative sauces and presentations.
The Manx is proud to present live entertainment every Sunday and Monday night as well as an art show, once a month, on the Sunday after new paintings have been hung. They host a reading series in the spring and fall called Plan 99, and periodically they hold scotch tastings on Saturday afternoons.
