The Lieutenant's Pump has been a staple of the Elgin Street scene for quite some time and with very good reason. They offer 16 beers on tap including Montreal's refreshing Griffin Pale and Brown ale, Strongbow cider, French and Italian wines, aged whisky and scotch, and a good range of spirits and liqueurs.
Really Good Food
Much more than just a bar, however, the Lieutenant runs a mean kitchen. Great appetizers, soups and salads, pastas, the odd pizza and stew always satisfy. Daily specials are always to be had, but it’s the yummy dinners and brunches that keep people coming back. That and the service here is good, they know that treating a customer well means they are likely to see them again.
Space to Mingle or Be Single
With over 3,000 square feet, the Pump has intimate nooks and crannies, larger gathering areas, and the never empty bar. There's a pool table, two dartboards and the television is always tuned to the game. Saturdays and Sundays feature an a la carte brunch with omelettes, eggs Benedict and other breakfast/lunch favourites. The clientele are a friendly mix of hungry office workers out for lunch, hip Elgin partiers, old-fashioned pub-crawlers and those who just simply enjoy a good time.

Take Note: On Sundays you don’t have to go to mom’s for dinner. The Pump serves a Roast Beef Dinner special that just might taste better than mom’s.
