Long-standing Landmark
Lansdowne Park is located on Ottawa’s Bank Street between two of the city’s oldest residential neighbourhoods, the Glebe and Old Ottawa South, and is bordered to the south by the Rideau Canal. Since its beginnings in 1868 as a parcel of rural land owned by the local Agricultural Society, Lansdowne Park has served as the home of the Central Canada Exhibition, local hockey and football teams and numerous consumer trade shows. It also offers a number of facilities that can be rented for events large and small.

Sports, Live Music and Outdoor Fun
In 1888, Lansdowne Park hosted the first Central Canada Exhibition (CCE). The CCE started as a mainly agricultural show and evolved through the years to become a modern summer fair, complete with flashy midway games, roller coasters and cotton candy. In 1908, a football stadium—now known as Frank Clair stadium—was built to accommodate Ottawa’s Canadian Football League franchise, the Rough Riders. In 1967, the Civic Centre, which incorporates a 10,000-seat hockey arena and exhibition halls, was added onto the football stadium. Since its construction, the Civic Centre has been home to the Ottawa 67s junior hockey team and regularly hosts concerts and trade shows.

Rent a Piece of History
Lansdowne Park’s many facilities can be rented for events ranging from intimate to incredibly large. The assembly hall is perfect for weddings and business functions while the Civic Centre’s five exhibition halls can be configured to host medium to large events, with up to 30,000 square feet of available floor space. The Aberdeen Pavilion, also affectionately known as the “Cattle Castle,” is the oldest structure at Lansdowne Park, built for the tenth annual CCE in 1898, with 36,000 square feet of floor space under its Victorian-era shell. Next door, the Coliseum Building offers 28,000 square feet. Whatever your event, Lansdowne has enough space to fit you in.
