Opened in 2007 and conveniently located in a shopping centre that houses several discount clothing and lingerie boutiques is the Jones New York Factory Store. No worries here about driving outside of the city only to find a few “factory” items among the regularly priced stock. This store is spacious and has plenty of clothing choices packed into it, and every single piece is at least 30 per cent off the manufacturer retail price. And that’s before the extra discounts—a sizable portion of the floor is taken up with racks of clothing at an additional 30 to 50 per cent off, so you can save as much as 80 per cent.
Variety is the Key
If Jones New York isn’t your style, this store is still worth a visit. The Factory Store stocks not only a variety of clothing types—dresses for going out on the town, suits for the office, and shorts for the weekend—but a surprisingly wide range of labels. There’s Nine West and Nine West & Company for the younger and hipper while Anne Klein and Evan Picone offer styles for the more sophisticated shopper. For those in between, there’s Norton McNaughton and Kasper. The store also carries clothes in all sizes: petites (2 to 14), women’s (14 to 24), and regular (4 to 16). So whatever your age or your build, you’ll probably find something right for you.
More than Just Threads
You can put together a whole wardrobe or just a whole outfit here. The belts, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets complement the style of the clothing, so you can mix and match. Hand bags big and small of leather and canvas also abound. Alas, there are no shoes! But just outside are more discount boutiques, so plan on some extra time for them.
