The Green Door bakes its own breads, all without yeast. Except for the rye bread, all the others are made from spelt flour so everyone can enjoy them. Among the 18 salads and several hot items offered daily, specialties include tofu-spinach lasagna, spinach quiche and tofu stir-fry. The menu also includes delicious curry and lentil dishes as well as a wide selection of hearty stews and casseroles.
Leave Room for Dessert
Those with a sweet tooth will thrill to the huge array of more than a dozen seasonal desserts, such as the Green Door's famous three-berry pie. No refined sugar is used in the preparation of these yummy treats and many are sweetened naturally with maple sugar or vanilla.
Picking and Choosing
A buffet-style layout allows customers to take as much, or as little, of anything they want, and pay by the weight. They can create their own meals by mixing and matching from a wide variety of all-vegetarian, all-natural food. The Green Door specializes in mostly organic, wheat free items for people with allergies, or who stick to macrobiotic diets.
