Above it All
Located on the second floor of a building at the corner of Queen and Lyon, the chalkboard wall featuring the month’s hockey/basketball/other televised sports schedule greets you at the top of the long flight of stairs. The copper-topped bar, black tin ceilings and worn wood tables and chairs offer comfort without pretension. Bring all your friends: there are tons of tables including many by the long windows facing Lyon Street, and plenty of barstools should you prefer to chat with the barkeep. Everywhere you look, there’s a TV, so no matter where you sit you won’t miss a moment of the game. Friday nights feature live bands instead of the sporting event du jour, so bring some buddies and prepare to rock.

Nosh Pit
The Glue Pot’s menu is heavy on the familiar bar snacks and comfort foods: burgers and wraps, nachos and wings, quesadillas and fried zucchini are all available, alone or as a combo platter. Dig a little deeper and you’ll find an assortment of meal-sized salads, a selection of Italian entrees (spaghetti, lasagna and the like), and even steak, ribs and fajitas. Wednesday to Saturday there’s a hot lunch buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you’re still hungry after all that, the Glue Pot has an old-fashioned glass popcorn machine. There are plenty of imported and domestic beers on tap, but if you prefer liquor there’s a fine selection of cocktails, shooters, whiskies and cognacs as well.

Fun and Games
Saunter on back into the game room and shoot a little pool or throw a few darts, or grab a table and get into a board game. If you're a gaming junkie, you can take a trip down memory lane with old-school arcade games in the back corner.
