| Getting There | | Facing Parliament Hill, turn right on Wellington Street, then turn left on Sussex Drive. Take the Macdonald-Cartier bridge to Hwy 5. Take Highway 5 north to exit 12 (Old Chelsea). Turn left onto Old Chelsea Road, and continue for 2 kilometres (1.25 miles). Turn right onto Scott Road. The Visitor Centre will be on your left. |

Gatineau Park is a superb nature reserve just 15 minutes from Parliament Hill. Endowed with hundreds of kilometres of trails, forests containing more than 60 species of trees, abundant wildlife and numerous crystal-clear lakes, the park has as its objective the permanent preservation of a vast natural territory for the enjoyment of all Canadians. Visitors can participate in outdoor activities or simply take advantage of the tranquility of a protected natural environment.
Hundreds of Activities
Drive along the scenic parkways and enjoy the view from one of the many lookouts. Spend the weekend at one of the campsites. Swim and picnic at the lakeshores. Learn about the forest from trained interpreters and enjoy the recreational trails. Seasonal activities such as biking and skiing also entertain thousands of visitors every year. The Friends of Gatineau Park Association, that helps keep the park clean, is another great way to enjoy the park while helping a great cause.
