In this fast-paced, business-driven world, slowing down to appreciate other aspects of life is part of a holistic plan for improving one's well-being. This eclectic boutique, aptly called the Garden of Light, strives to meet the challenges of the modern world by offering solace in the form of literature, decorative art and unique gifts.
Finding Personal Gifts
With a wide range of candle sticks, incense holders and greeting cards for all occasions, among other gift items, the Garden of Light is the perfect setting for discovering a particularly different gift for a family member or loved one. A variety of imports include shawls from India, jewels from Nepal, Tibetan bowls, journals, decorative stones and Buddha boards. Two locations serve Ottawa customers; the original Garden on Laurier was so successful that a second boutique later opened in the Market on Clarence Street.
A Calming Atmosphere
The Garden of Light sells a wide variety of literature aimed at improving self-esteem and providing an inspirational outlook on life. The store also sells a selection of books for those interested in meditation. Although the price range for books and art objects aren't unlike those of larger bookstore chains and department outlets, the atmosphere remains distinctly independent, one in which choosing the best book for you is more important than its cost.
