Wing-backed chairs, a fireplace, a dartboard, board games and an earthy décor create an ultra-friendly ambiance at Earl of Sussex, an English pub straight out of the old country. A gathering place for family and friends, the Earl's festive atmosphere has attracted patrons for more than 20 years. The patio is one of the sunniest in the city, and with a seating capacity of 120, it gets pretty lively out there.
Salads in a Pub?
Featuring some of the best British pub food in the city, the Earl's kitchen offers a variety of lunch specials. Locals and tourists alike delight in their selection of salads such as the pear and walnut salad featuring pear, chevre cheese, walnuts, mixed greens, tomatoes and cucumbers in a balsamic dressing.
Lots To Choose From
For snacks try the Sussex sampler with wings, chicken curry spring rolls, onion rings and zucchini. Main courses include wraps, hot and cold sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, homemade potpies, fresh haddock fish and chips, filet of Atlantic salmon, burgers, and various vegetarian meals.
Bask in the Glow
The Earl's claim-to-fame is their selection of over 20 beers on tap. With old faithfuls including Guinness, Smithwicks, Boddington's, Kilkenny, Strongbow cider and more unique choices such as Harp, Brick and a few microbrews, guests won't go thirsty. A great house wine is served by the glass, half-liter or liter and a nice range of single malt scotches are also available.
