The food at Daniel O'Connell's Irish Pub varies widely from salads to hot sandwiches to fish and chips. The legendary burgers at the pub range from the traditional style to ones with sautéed onions, mushrooms and four types of cheese. Homemade soups share menu space with quesadillas, perogies, whistle dogs and veggie burgers. There is also a selection of wraps from cold chicken and cheese to a classic club wrap.
The Sound of Music
Daniel O'Connell's Irish Pub is cozy with a familiar look that is evocative of what you might see in Ireland. Live Irish music hits the pub's stage every Thursday night (known as Irish Night and organized by the Irish Society of Ottawa). Wednesdays are open mic nights and Friday and Saturday evenings feature other styles of live music, typically a blend of classic rock, folk and Irish, depending on the musician.
Meet Your Old Friends or Make New Ones
The atmosphere is friendly and the regular live music keeps people coming back. The bar area is wide and long with plenty of seats: perfect for anyone wishing to chat with patrons or meet new people. Games of chess, backgammon and cards are also available upon request. Traditional Irish music often plays on nights without live music. Enjoy the large outdoor patio on warm summer evenings.
