Cozy Elegance
Combining the cozy atmosphere of a pub and the gourmet decadence of French cuisine, Chez Lucien is just steps away from the hustle and bustle of the ByWard Market. Shortly after its February 2004 opening, this cozy pub had already become a local favourite.

Gourmet Meets Pub Fare
Customer favourites include gourmet burgers, salads, croque monsieur (a French specialty consisting of a croissant with ham smothered in a rich gruyere béchamel sauce) and even escargots in garlic butter, with pub favourites like chicken wings and New York steak to round out the menu. Although the menu may be small, look for the daily chef specials that usually include pastas, fish and seasonal soups. Desserts include chocolate fondue for one or two, crêpes with maple cream and fresh fruit.

Make Yourself at Home
Guests can choose between the smaller second floor dining area that overlooks the bar or the spacious main floor and bar area, which is 40 feet high. Exposed brick and stone walls, elegant archways and the work of local artists decorating the walls help to give the space an older, established feel and help make patrons feel at home. To further enhance the make-yourself-at-home feel patrons get to choose the music from the free jukebox that is stacked with classics, while the mellow sounds of live, local jazz bands entertain on Sunday afternoons. Also, the summer veranda is the perfect place to sit while sipping one of many micro-brew or premium beers, or a selection from the extensive wine list.
