The demolition of the old Capital City Music Hall on Rideau Street left Ottawa live music fans temporarily homeless, but not for long. The venue has been recreated in another location - the Byward Market. Located at the former site of Surface Nightclub, Capital Music Hall has been transformed into a cosier, yet still workable version of its former self. Since its opening in the fall of 2003, Capital Music Hall has been home to some great shows. Despite a capacity of only 480 patrons, this concert venue has hosted the likes Sam Roberts, the Black Eyed Peas, Big Sugar and Bad Religion.
Same Great Sound
Capital Music Hall is located in the heart of Ottawa’s entertainment district. Its central position makes it easily accessible. Within walking distance to hotels, street parking and restaurants, the Capital really tries to make as many shows as possible “all ages” events. Therefore, ID is an absolute must for those anticipating orders of alcoholic beverages. Prices for shows depend on the acts and can be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster. Get your tickets early, because the venue often does sell out. Try to get there on time, too, because seats and tables are limited.
The Capital Music Hall has flexible seating arrangements, high-tech ticketing capabilities, state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment. All of these great features make it the perfect location for concerts, charity fundraisers, and private corporate functions. If you’re thinking of booking the Capital for your next event, call ahead and schedule an appointment for a preview of the venue.
