Natural light and earthy tones invite customers to make themselves at home in this cozy café. The décor is reminiscent of an Italian villa, with brown tiled floors off-set by warm yellow walls. Potted plants and tins of olive oil line the wooden service counter, giving the place an authentic feel. The newly expanded dining room is a bright, airy addition and provides seating for 36. Each table top – a collage of handcrafted pictures and photos – is a unique and modern touch.
Grilled to Perfection
The menu features simple, wholesome dishes combined with classic Italian ingredients. Open at 8 a.m. for breakfast, early risers can start their day with a breakfast panini, capicollo omelette, or traditional eggs and toast. Choose from a variety of paninis for lunch (grilled or not) topped with prosciutto, Genova salami, Italian ham or Provolone cheese. On the lighter side, salads are available, complete with fresh vegetables and homemade dressings. Add chicken breast or veal scaloppine for something heartier.
Value Served Daily
A favourite among the business crowd, Caffe Zucchero fills quickly for lunch. Friendly and efficient service ensures patrons have time to dine in, but take-out is available also. Prices are reasonable; the popular weekday soup, salad or panini combination special is good a value for your dollar. Saturday offers a different menu as part of the popular Saturday brunch.
