Located in the heart of Ottawa’s Byward Market, Benny’s Bistro is a hot-spot for downtown natives and tourists alike. The business actually consists of the bistro and a bakery, which serves up fresh bread, pastries and cake. Benny’s Bistro offers breakfast, brunch and lunch, and specializes in post-colonial French cuisine.
The French Bistro boasts a modern, industrial and minimalist décor, accented with bright splashes of colour. Inside you’ll see shades of orange, yellow and blue, 12-foot-high ceilings and beautiful artwork adorning the walls. The atmosphere is trendy and elegant. The bistro is small, with only 28 places so patrons can enjoy their meals in an intimate setting. Are you hosting an event? With two weeks notice, Benny’s Bistro will reserve their special room for gatherings of 15-25 people.
Light & Tasty Dining
Making use of local produce, the bistro’s menu is seasonal; it changes depending on what is available. Brunch at Benny’s includes French toast, sausage and gravlax – traditional Swedish and Finnish salt-cured raw salmon. Soups, sandwiches and pastas dot the pages of Benny’s lunch menu. Fancier denominations are also available and include sea scallops, duck, red snapper and pork tenderloin. Top off your meal with one of the bakery’s fabulous desserts: chocolate moose, malted chocolate cake, crème brûlée, lemon tart and pumpkin cheesecake are just the tip of the iceberg.
Liquor license: yes (wine and several beers)
