The local chain of pubs; The Barley Mow has one of the most impressive scotch and beer lists found on this side of the Atlantic. Try one of their many single malt whiskies, or select from among 20 microbrews and import draughts on tap. Hard to believe but with such a good selection they are also a family friendly pub.
Pub Grub With Panache
The Barley Mow boats a full menu of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, salads and wraps, as well as main courses. Though they do serve such traditional favourites as fish and chips, bangers and mash, and liver and onions, one can also enjoy a blazing hot curry or grilled yellow fin tuna. Nachos, wings, chicken fingers and a basket of fries or “chippers” (house-made potato chips with Belgian-style frites sauce) are also on offer. The Barley Mow also serves a home-style brunch on the weekends.
Families and Friends
A superb selection of beers and a great kids menu can be found here. Including brunch specials such as PB & J with chocolate milk, so that your little one can get their fill too. There’s a good selection of wines and a full complement of mixed drinks and cocktails. Feeling indecisive or just want it all? The Mow offers samplers of its beers, wines and scotches so that one can get a taste of several different libations.
