Profile
Make sure you don’t confuse ABBA Memories with ABBA Fever, an American dance company. ABBA Memories, which started last summer in the Saguenay region, is 100% Quebecois. The unbelievable similarity of the female vocals to Frida Lyngstap and Agnetta Faltskog are the highlight of this show. The flawless interpretation, the flamboyant décor and the magic of multimedia, launch this show into the twenty century.
This show, which will travel throughout the province of Quebec in 2010, with a little detour to… China, presents 25 ABBA classics depicting the disco era. Recruited in auditions throughout the province of Quebec, these 9 singers and musicians poured out their hearts as they sang Voulez Vous, Mama Mia, SOS, Knowing Me Knowing You, Fernando, I Do I Do I Do, Take A Chance On Me, I Have A Dream and the explosive grand finale, Dancing Queen, at which point the whole audience was up on their feet cheering.
There are no wigs or special make-up to try to imitate the original group. All of their energy and talent is focused on the sound and the vocals to give an authentic representation. The crowd stands and joins in singing and clapping as the group interprets Take a Chance on Me. The frenzy grows as the rhythm intensifies with Waterloo and explodes with Dancing Queen.
Created by François Rochefort, the artistic director, this show will amaze you with its white piano, its excellent light show, 2 elevated sections of percussions separated by 2 huge metallic staircases with giant screens in the center.
